Cancer is right now my least favorite word with war coming into a close second. Between Jude and I we have 6+ friends (or parents of friends) that are facing serious health issues related to cancer. and about war... it just adds to my already heightened sense of violence in the world. It takes an extra effort to plug into life in the positive without turning away from the pain in life. I have to burn a candle when I pray... not because it is something magical... but because without one I find concentrating on prayer nearly impossible. For some strange reason the light from a candle helps me calm down, focuss, and pray.
